usr bin perl permission denied – Why I get a display “Access is denied” when i run my perl

Almost certainly your Perl script is encoded in DOS/Windows line-ending format, which uses \r\n to terminate lines. Since Unix terminates lines with \n only, the \r is interpreted as belonging to the executable name, so that the kernel tries to run a program named perl5\r and fails.. Deleting the trailing \r on this line should fix the problem.

I’ve already run into issues and resolved them about Perl being contained in usr/local/bin instead of usr/local and placing the iOS 8.1 SDKs in the right spot using some copying, but for the life of me I just cannot figure out what to do here. What exactly do I not have permission for? How can I fix it?

This is a hardened system I do not have this problem with another system that although has hardened flags in make.conf, it’s profile is not hardened. /usr/bin/perl: bad interpreter: Permission denied This happens as user but not as root.

Feb 11, 2015 · I don’t think this is related to RPostgres, it is a problem with your current brew installation. When you install brew, it asks you for sudo, specifically to set the permissions on /usr/local.One reason this might happen is if you have multiple users on osx, and you are using brew with another user than the one who installed it.

When we make new script file then by default it has read and write permission. But if we want to execute them, then we should give execute permission by shown above. Note that execution bit alone is not enough for shell scripts: one must be able to read the file as well to execute it (contrary to binaries which only need the execute permission
